Pregnancy week 25
In this the twenty fifth week of pregnancy your belly is really taking shape and you are almost certainly
feeling more uncomfortable than at any stage of pregnancy up to now - its time to think about your comfort and making sure you get rest when you can.
When you are lying down you might benefit from a pregnancy pillow. Not only
that but your back may be sore and you may find yourself waking at night to go to the bathroom or baby might be awake in the middle of the night
and want you to get up and play ! Since getting enough rest is very important by pregnancy week 25 you should try if at all possible to
keep physically active during the day (so you have a better chance if sleeping at night), use a pregnancy pillow when you are lying down
or if you don't have a special pillow then try lying on your left side (for circulation and comfort) and try putting a pillow
under your tummy and one between your legs. Even if you are active during the day it is still worth taking a quick nap if at all possible.
By pregnancy week 25 your baby has grown to just under 9 inches long from its bottom to the top of its head and baby weighs around one and a half pounds or almost 3/4 of a kilo ! If you
look back the pregnancy weeks (see the right hand side of this page and select say
pregnancy week 20 you can see how fast baby is growing. Its really amazing. At this stage of pregnancy
the baby looks like a mini human being given that they are so completely formed and in proportion by pregnancy week 25. All of the babys organs are functioning and its only
baby's lungs really that need time to develop more - baby's heart is pumping and has been for weeks now and it has become
easier to hear baby's heart.
