Pregnancy week 23
Your baby is now about 8 inches long from the top of its head to its bottom and weighs about a pound. He or she looks like a grown baby and tiny teeth are beginning to grow in his or her gums - the hair on baby's body may start to turn dark at this stage of pregnancy. Baby's eyes are well developed now but lacking in color and the pancreas has started growing. Your baby has become more active over the last few pregnancy weeks. He or she can now grab things and is probably doing just that. By pregnancy week 23 baby can also bring his or her knees up to chest level. Some doctors and women who have been pregnant will tell you that the time around pregnancy week 23 is a nice time since your body is not that big yet and you are probably over the worst of the morning sickness. Emotionally, with the changed hormone levels during pregnancy you may feel uncertain about things, anxious and irritable. Its easy to say but generally this is all part of pregnancy. Talk to those closest to you and your doctor if necessary and keep eating healthily and getting enough sleep.
