Does our society really reward pregnancy ?

Is there a negative subliminal or indeed obvious message in our culture that places extra pressure on women (and men) at the time of pregnancy ? If you really think about it Pregnancy is wonderful, natural and miraculous. But there are many women (and men) who can’t think about the many positive aspects of pregnancy due to personal and life circumstances. Are we as a society failing those people ? We seem to be more worried about money than life itself. And that is arguably our biggest problem. How many people believe that they can’t afford children and prevent life on that basis ? Pregnancy is life changing and an event to be cherished. Pregnancy is also the beginning of a journey. The journey of a life whose life may give life to your lineage for decades and centuries into the future.

Your child might be a doctor or an astronaut or a Saint. One of your child’s children’s children, if born, could be a World Leader. The confirmation of a pregnancy, is the most unique sign of hope, life and love in our world.
